Chelsea could close the season with a double domestically, while Arsenal want to salvage disappointing season with a title after the FA Cup Final on May 27.
1. How are the Arsenal defense in a bad situation?
The disaster happened to the defenders of "Gunners" from last week. Shkodran Mustafi is likely to miss Saturday's final match because of a brainstorm, when he can not practice the days. Meanwhile, Laurent Koscielny is suspended for the red card against Everton in the last round of Premier League. Gabriel Paulista is also definitely out of a knee injury. If Mustafi are fit, he will be able to play defensive midfield with Per Mertesacker.
But with the current situation, Arsenal would probably have to put Mertesacker in charge with Rob Holding. With the defense, the Gunners may wish the pair of Eden Hazard and Chelsea striker Diego Costa go through a day of inactivity.
2. Arsene Wenger and the match may be the last at Arsenal
The Frenchman said his future would be decided at the club board meeting after the final. The FA Cup win may help keep Wenger at Emirates Stadium, but it may not be enough for the two sides to sign a renewal of the contract. Since being Arsenal manager in 1996, this is the first season Wenger has not been able to help this club finish the Premier League in the top four and lose the Champions League.
3. Domestic double for Chelsea?
The Stamford Bridge club has had a successful campaign with the Premier League title, after the 2015-16 season only ranked tenth. But their record this season will be more convincing than when they won the FA Cup in their first year under coach Antonio Conte.
4. Will the fight between two defenders have three?
Chelsea have flown straight to the Premier League since their move to the 3-4-3 formation in October. Wenger has also let Arsenal try to play in the trio after losing his early form this year, but did not make impressive defensive appearances like Chelsea. However, Arsenal will probably opt for the three-man defense in the final due to the personnel crisis.
5. Can Alexis Sanchez continue playing the hero?
In the season when the Arsenal squad was disappointing, the Chilean star was still brilliant with 24 goals and 10 assists for his team-mates in the Premiership (third in the table behind Harry Kane Of Tottenham and Romelu Lukaku of Everton). Arsenal will need a proper Sanchez to boost their chances of beating Chelsea in the final.
