Arsenal's defenses suffered losses in the FA Cup Final due to injury and a penalty. Meanwhile, Chelsea is full of players.
Before the FA Cup final, Arsene Wenger's troopers were in a bad state of mind and strength. Arsenal certainly can not be happy because only ranked fifth in the English Premier League when the 2016/17 season closed, the first time no tickets to the Champions League under Wenger age. In terms of force, the Gunners received no small losses in defense.
Mid-Defender Laurent Koscielny will not be allowed to play for three games, receiving a direct red card in the 38th-round tie against Everton. Wenger confirmed another defender, Gabriel Paulista, would not be able to play the FA Cup final because of injury. In addition, Shkodran Mustafi also left open the possibility.
Therefore, Wenger will not have enough personnel in hand to continue deploying diagrams of three defenders he likes to use recently. Arsenal will return to the 4-2-3-1 scheme with Mid-Defender pair Mertesacker and Rob Holding. The two defenders will still belong to Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin.
Right on the set of four defenders will be two defensive midfielders Granit Xhaka Francis Coquelin. On the attack, the Sanchez-Oezil-Walcott trio will assist the Giroud (or Welbeck).
On the Chelsea side, Antonio Conte will welcome the return of Nemanja Matic. The midfielder does not play in the last two games of the English Premier League 2016/17, but will return to playing against N'Golo Kante against Arsenal. That means Cesc Fabregas will be pushed to the bench.
Thus, Conte will have in hand full "hero" to conquer the FA Cup. He had no reason not to apply the 3-4-3 scheme that helped Chelsea win the English Premier League 2016/17.
Courtois will hold the wooden frame, above him is the defender: Azpilicueta-Luiz-Cahill. Moses-Matic-Kante-Alonso will be four midfielders, while Pedro, Hazard and Costa will be on the attack.
